This is our second, and more recently opened, burial ground and is on a
gentle slope in a quiet valley in one of the most attractive and historic
areas of Leicestershire.
The brook along the northern edge of the area already provides a valuable
wildlife refuge. Woodland
with open wildflower glades is being created as the burial ground develops.
Several thousand trees and shrubs have already been planted and this work
will continue over the coming years.
Direction to Scraptoft Natural Burial Ground
Situated on Keyham Lane East, just 5
miles east of Leicester
City centre. Take the
A47 east out of Leicester, after 2 ½ miles
take the left-hand turn into Scraptoft
Lane (at a petrol station). When you get to
Scraptoft turn left into Scraptoft Rise and follow the one way system along Main Street onto
the Beeby road. Follow the road, passing the
turning for the golf course on the left, and continue down the hill for 1/3
mile past a farmhouse on the left. The Burial ground is now on your right. Go
under the barrier and into car park.
