Our first natural burial ground is nestled in a very quiet, rural location within the historic Prestwold Estate in Leicestershire.

A woodland shelterbelt and hedges border the burial ground. A wildflower meadow of primrose, cowslips, oxeye daisy and field scabious has been sown and hundreds of native trees planted. Additional tree planting is taking place as more and more graves are used to eventually create wildlife-rich natural woodland with flowery glades.

Directions to Prestwold Natural Burial Ground

Situated only 2 miles east of Loughborough towards Prestwold Hall and Burton on the Wolds.

Leave Loughborough on the A60 (past the railway station and the Brush factory) towards Nottingham. At Cotes turn right (where the road bends sharply left) onto B676 (signposted Melton). The burial ground is ½ mile along this road signposted to the right. Keep left along this track at all times and drive between the barriers towards the carpark. Note that the barrier posts are wide enough to allow access for most cars.
